Hi Sexmachines3! My name is Frankie DeCandia. I live in a city called
Malden, a suburb of Boston in Massachusetts. I am a senior in high school,
and I attend Pope John XXIII High School. At school I am currently
involved with lots of activities, such as Campus Ministry. Campus Ministry
is a bunch of students that help others around the school, and also
organize retreats for the underclassmen.
Quite the interesting name for your group, don't you think? I found out
that I can identi fy with all three of you on different levels. First is
Lars who likes music and plays soccer. I love music and used to play
soccer! I haven't played in a long time because of other activities. I was
good! I don't mind gloating. I played sweeper for the be st team in the
conference. I wonder what position you play and what kind of music you
like? After Lars, there is Steffen. I, like Steffen, enjoy hip hop and
parties! I bet we could trade some fun party stories, as well as recommend
some good c.d.s for one another. Last is Jonathan, who likes the
Mavericks! Even though I usually don't side with the dynasty teams, I am a
big fan of Dirk Nowitzki! He's an incredible basketball player. Their
starting five may be the best in the league! Well, I enjoyed talking with
you guys, and I hope we will work together soon!

Hi Afy!
You want to know how much I know about your country? I have to say that
I do not really know very much about Iran.I only know that Iran is the
neighbour of Iraque and that the citicens of Iran hate Saddam Hussein! In
my opinion Saddam Hussein is very cruel and violent but it is not the
correct way to start a war against him. What do you think about the USA?
Do they really want to defend Saddam or is the only reason for the coming
( and it surely comes) war the big oil reserve existing in Iraque? Tell me
something about the Iran. I want to know more about your country. And what
do you know about Germany? Mail me......... ;) yours
Lars..........

from Seattle, 18.3.:
Hey Johnathon!
So you like soccer? I love soccer, it is my favorite sport. I pretty good
too. I got picked to represent the USA and play against other counties.
Other sports that I like are softball and bech volleyball. I like football
too, but only for fun. I like the same type of music you do. My favorite
band would probably have to be System of a Down. I also like Disturbed,
Linkin' Park, and Trust Company. Basically, I like rock music. Rap is also
another type of music that I like. But I don't like all rappers, only a
few. As for what you said about "World War Three", I guess that
that's what I would call this war, too. It seems like a lot of countries
are getting involved in the matter. But some people in the states think
that President Bush is too stupid to handle this and some people think
that he knows exactly what he is doing. I guess that I would have to be
one of the people that are not really sure of President Bush. I think that
he should try to hold off this war for as long as possible, and I also
think that he should try to bring the Iraqi president down (I can't even
remember the guys name.) I also think that President is kind of stupid, so
I don't know if he smart enough to take any action in this matter at all.
The reason that I think that President Bush is stupid is because when he
was doing a speech, he couldn't pronounce one of the words in his speech.
Some people think that he doesn't even write his own speeches. Some people
think that the only real reason the Supreme Court chose him to be
president was because his father was president, too. What other reason
would there be for him not to know the words that he put in his speech?
Then I listen to him speak on T.V. about the possible war with Iraq and he
actually sounds like he knows what he is talking about. So really, I think
that the presidents need to come up with something and fast. I just moved
to Washington from Los Angeles, California. I really miss it there,
especially my friends. By the way, NO. Women and sports do not go together
unless you are talking about Female athletes. Bye, Gabriella

(2) Hi @ all!!!
Our topic is school systems in the various countries. We choose this
topic because we are interested in getting more information about school
systems. At first we want to give you short information about the school
we go to and other schools in Germany. We are students at a comprehensive
school in Germany. At the beginning we want to explain the normal school
system in Germany. First pupils go to the primary school for four years
after that they come to a school where they must stay for two years. There
the teachers decide to which school the pupils have to go to because after
six school years a system with three different types of schools begins.
The pupils are separated into three different types of schools. The very
clever pupils come to a grammar school in which they can get there A-
level called Abitur after 13 school years which gets you into university.
In to the second type of school the middle good pupils go to. There they
can get there Realschulabschluss, a diploma of education after ten school
years. The last type of school is a school to which the poor performance
pupils go to. There they can get there diploma after 9 years. Our school
is in some ways different from the other schools because our school is a
comprehensive school, similar to the US high school. A comprehensive
school is a school in which all pupils are together in one school and
where they can get all diplomas. Our school is a very big school with 1600
pupils and 130 teachers. If you response we would like to here your
opinion about the schools in your area. Could you please answer these
questions?!?!
1. about 800
2. about 70
3. ...
4. all
5. everything
6. 9
7. everything

from Kz., 3.4.:
World War III.
Hey everybody! We are Ira, Artyom, Ira, and Yulya from Kazakhstan. It is
the third World War going on in Iraq, and we'd like to give you our
opinion on it. We think that the US government is providing wrong politics,
because the peaceful citizens of Iraq are suffering from the actions of
the US Army. We think that America does not really want to make Iraq a
peaceful place without nuclear weapons and Hussein's political system.
What they really want is Iraq oil! The USA is acting too tough, and it
doesn't look like a strike back against the terror of the 11th of
September, 2001. What is going on in Iraq looks like a real war in which
the USA follows some indefinite aims. America wants to get some profit out
of this conflict. This war is doing harm to Iraq, its citizens, its
economy, and culture. Most of the victims of the conflict are innocent
people who don't give a damn about the US and Iraq political opposition.
The USA is trying to look like a world judge for everybody on this planet.
They say they are trying to provide justice for the countries that need it,
but that's not what they are really doing. We got a good example of this
recently. Do you guys remember that US journalist who got fired after he
had reported all the truth about the war in Iraq? Well, that's for the US
democracy and justice! We think that all this crap should be stopped as
soon as possible. This war is not doing good to anybody in the world.
Don't you think so? Ira Lyapunova, Ira Gaivoronskaya, Yulya Mokshina,

from VHS, 1.5.:
(In response to topic #4, part 1, Jever, Germany, Sexmachines3- Third
World War) The Possibility of World War III: Imminent Danger My intense
feelings of denouncement about the pending war is shared by many people
around the nation. This approaching conflict entails an ongoing battle
with Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein and the oppression of his people. When
trying to form an honest opinion on Hussein's regime, many factors must be
looked at. Hussein is a tyrannical madman, ruling his country with an ir
on fist. He coerces his people and murders the innocent residents of his
country. The fact is, Hussein's regime isn't pinpointed to his own country.
He is able to threaten anyone and everyone around the world. This decision
falls upon the shoulders of the United States: whether to stop Hussein
before he attacks, or to wait for his unavoidable strike. When forming
this decision, the United States must put the all- important issue into
perspective: the freedom of the American people. After the horrific ev
ents of September 11, 2001, the American people have swelled with
patriotism and pride. If we were to avoid war, at all costs, what kind of
image would that portray for us? Although in present day we hold a
startlingly strong persona, the fact remains tha t we are still recovering
from a tragedy. In addition to this emotional recuperation, there is also
an undeniable aspect of fear. Despites these reservations, I'm a realist.
I understand that the situation in Iraq is going to continue to escalate.
I also realize that it must come to some kind of climax that most likely
will be in the form of combat. However, to label this as a "World
War" would be completely incorrect. In my opinion, for a war to be
labeled as a "World War," I would think more than two countries
would be involved. This seems like a logical standard, considering
previous participants in past World Wars. Also, in previous wars, multiple
countries have teamed together to conquer a greater evil. On this imminent
battle, the world seems to be divided. Surely other countries support our
effort, but other countries also abhor our endeavor. Nevertheless, until
more countries publicly and physically join the United States army, there
is no way this can be called a World War. Perhaps other count ries fear
for their safety, which is something that is completely understandable.
Hussein is a brilliant military mind, albeit on the brink of insanity.
However, it must be decided where this insanity will stretch to. Surely
other countries can see the po tential for authoritarianism that Hussein
possesses. In the unlikely circumstance that he were to be victorious in
battle, what would stop him from attacking other countries? Reality would
suggest that as his regime grows, the size of his empire would fol low.
There are some people that completely support the war, at all costs. And
while they have some serious points about it, I just can't seem to justify
their decision. I share a commonly thought (but rarely spoken) opinion on
the war. I happen to thin k that George W. is attempting to finish what
his father began ten years ago. Bush Sr. began his battle with Hussein
over ten years ago, and the fight continued for his whole term. Ten years
later, George W. has rekindled the flame, in the wake of the dea th of
thousands. Grim words yes, but words that hold infinite validity. Keep in
mind that I am not speaking against the President of our country. On the
contrary, I am backing him up. I completely agree that Hussein must be
stopped. He's a threat to t he freedom of the American people, not to
mention the free will of the world. His alleged involvement with terrorism
only reinforces why he should be annihilated. However, this does not mean
you have to bring war to his whole country. I realize he is thei r leader,
but killing his innocent people won't even make him bat an eyelash.
Targeting Hussein and his regime is the most intelligent way to act. Other
countries recognize him as a threat, but they are reluctant to bring war
to Iraq. Nevertheless, it see ms President Bush has pushed that
unwillingness aside, and he is prepared to do everything to protect his
country. Although I do not agree with every aspect of why he is fighting,
I offer the utmost support for him and our country. If Hussein is stopped,
the death of thousands may actually be given significance, rather than
just being another group of casualties in a battle filled with bloodshed.

(In response to topic #4, part 1, Jever, Germany, Sexmachines3- Third
World War: The Crisis of the USA and Iraq) Iraq vs. the United States We
began the intense attack on Iraq Friday morning. In President Bush's
speech to Saddam Hussein, Bush state d, "Saddam Hussein and his sons
must leave Iraq within 48 hours. Their refusal to do so will result in
military conflict, commenced at a time of our choosing. For their own
safety, all foreign nationals -- including journalists and inspectors --
should le ave Iraq immediately." To me this speech was very powerful.
President Bush was trying to lead and protect the United States from the
evil of this family. He wanted to complete this mission safely and
peacefully although this is not what the Hussein regime wanted. The
September 11th attack on the United States brought about much rage toward
terrorists, and later countries with ties to terrorism like the leadership
of Iraq. We had already in the past let them gain excessive power when we
did not do anyt hing to them when the World Trade Center was bombed
before. Our government asked the Iraqi regime to give up their immense
bombs and other destructive weapons. They affirmed that they did not base
any nuclear bombs or warheads that they were looking for; yet the first
missile that they launched was a scud missile that they allegedly did not
have. We anticipate helping the Iraqi people discover a new form of
government; as a result, they might make a better economy for themselves
and live happier. They will be assured this when they begin to see that
their neighbors are not getting persecuted for walking the wrong way. I
hope that this war on terrorism and Iraq is solved with a superb ending
for everyone. I think that this war could very possibly tu rn into a world
war, particularly if Russia starts to help Iraq. Each country will be
forced to decide whom they are allies with and whom they are enemies with.
I do not believe that there will be any neutral countries. If Russia does
not get involved, an d we take care of it hastily, then I believe most of
the conflict will be resolved. By: Penny Butler Age: 17 Virtual High

Hi Iran!
My name is Lars and I am from Germany (HI AFY!)! You asked for a text
about death so I will write you a text about death. First, I think, you
have to define "death". In my opinion, there are many forms of
death. First we have the physical death. I think that this is the form of
death you mean. Ok, let me tell you something about THIS death. You die...
and then... I do not know... perhaps you will get to heaven and live happy
forever... perhaps you will get in hell and die again and again... In fact
I think, that "heaven" and " hell" are places people
invented to get over the fear because they do not know what there will be
after their death. They can not believe / are not able to believe that
there will be nothing after their death. Try to imagine your death and
then try to tell me how it will be not to be.. be away.. be nothing.. even
your soul will be away.. destroyed by death.. ! This is impossible! So
peoble HAVE to think or to believe in a life after death..... Another sort
of death is the spiritual death - in my opinion the worst kind of death.
You are there... you are a human being... but you are not able to decide
things on your own... Not being able to say what you are thinking of is
worse than being killed... If I had the chance to chose between the
"normal" death and the death I described above, I would chose
the "normal" way.
