Here we are

Hi! Three 17-years-old, German girls living in the whole world. We are called Astrid, Birte and Anke. Birte lives in the USA because she takes part in a student exchange. The rest of us live in Germany.

Astrid is a nice spectacled cobra with green eyes who loves books and music. She is only satisfied when she can read books all day. Astrid likes to play church organ and violin. She loves to telephone with Anke and other friends. She can never stop telephoning.

Birte is a young fantastic woman. She likes animals. Since August she has been living near Houston, Texas. Birte always cares for us. Even from America she can see what we are doing in Germany. In her free time she likes to go swimming and to meet friends.

Anke likes sports, reading Lance Armstrong's autobiography and cats. One of her favourite hobbies is laughing and she is doing that all day. She likes to chat and telephone. Anke can telephone all day with her friends. Her dad is always shocked when he sees the telephone bill, but she never understands his hysterical screams.

Topic: BOOKS

- You love to talk about literature of the 20th century?
It happened so much in the last century. Even in literature you can find so many things that were new in the 20th century. I want to discuss some of the books that were written in that time.
Astrid

- Do you like fantasy-books? I like to read all kinds of fantasy-books. My favourite ones are written by Wolfgang Hohlbein. Which fantasy-authors do you like? What do you think about the Harry Potter books? I Like them a lot and can't wait until the next book is published. I also loved the movie. I watched it twice and think it is great, although I like the books better. I know that there are a lot of people who don't like Harry Potter.
Birte

- (auto-)biographies of famous sportsmen and -women. I am a big sports fan and I like so get more information about the sportsmen and -women. You too? Write back to me! My favourite autobiography is the story of Lance Armstrong. The next book I am going to read is "Dwan". I don't know if anybody read this book. Is it well-written? Or can you recommend other biographies?
